Ingredients:
- 4 jumbo Coturnix quail (split or halved)
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 tsp hot sauce (optional)
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions:
- Marinate quail in buttermilk + hot sauce (optional) for 4–8 hours in the fridge.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep skillet or fryer.
- Dredge marinated quail in seasoned flour.
- Fry for about 4–5 minutes per side or until golden and cooked through.
- Drain on a wire rack or paper towels. Serve with hot honey or slaw.
